Submitted by Frank on Sunday, December 31, 2006 - 23:49

Well, it's that time again. Our Christmas Radio station was a big hit. Everday, our bandwidth was maxed out. People from all over the world tuned it everyday to hear our Classic Christmas Oldies. We definitely have the best on the internet. I just wish I could afford more connections. Well, we'll see you next year!

Rose Parade
Submitted by Frank on Thursday, November 2, 2006 - 20:55

This is the fourth year I have attended the Rose Parade. This is Elena's second year. Everytime we have attended, we leave the morning of the parade and we get curb side seats. Sure, we are not at the beginning of the parade route but the parade still has to pass by us. The only thing we really miss by not being at the beginning of the parade route are some of the "special" tricks and features the floats and bands do for the television cameras. Since we don't have to camp out for a few days, it's not that bad of a price to pay.

Oak Glen
Submitted by Frank on Thursday, November 2, 2006 - 20:49

As always, our trip to Oak Glen was short but fun. Oak Glen is a city full of apple orchards in California, U.S.A. They have all sorts of fun things to do including picking your own apples. It still is cheaper to buy apples in a major grocery store but we wanted to have fun picking them ourselves. I had fun but Elena grew tired after awhile. When we picked apples, we got stickers in our shoes and socks. Since it was a clear day, the sun baked us, too! I guess fun is one of those words that is difined by the individual. The activities can be educational at times. One time, Elena had taken her class there to show the kids around. Some of the people there live without television, radio, or electric appliances.

Magic Mountain
Submitted by Frank on Thursday, November 2, 2006 - 20:45

Welcome to our trip to Six Flags Magic Mountain. Elena and I thought that it was going to be slightly cool but we were highly mistaken. It was very hot and even hotter since we wore pants. After we went on Raging Rapids, we were soaked! The great thing about jeans are that they hold the water for a long time when they get wet. In fact, we had to dry out in the sun just to make sure that we were not wet at night. Although we were cool for the rest of the day.

Elena wondered, as with myself and so many other people, why a company would build an amusement park on a hilly terrain. It can get very tiring walking around all day. When we got home, our legs felt as if they had quite the workout.

Legoland
Submitted by Frank on Thursday, November 2, 2006 - 20:40

Welcome to our trip to LegoLand, U.S.A. LegoLand is an amusement park located in Carlsbad, California, U.S.A. that was designed for children between the ages of 3 and 12. We feel that kids between the ages of 5 and 10 would enjoy it the most. Parking is $7.00 USD and to get a little closer to the entrance, you will have to pay $12.00 USD. The scenery is decorated with sculptures made out of Legos. The landscaping was designed very well and has a lot of nice plants and flowers. Even though the scenery is beautiful, the smell coming from the fertilizer plant next door was overwhelming throughout the day.

Disneyland
Submitted by Frank on Thursday, November 2, 2006 - 20:35

Welcome to our trip to Disneyland. Elena's friend, Kim, and Frank's niece, Karolen, went with us because they hadn't been there for a long time. Frank hadn't been there for 10 years. I guess that there isn't much to say except that it was fun. We got there very early so we could avoid the crowds. We rode six of the major rides within the first one and a half hours. They have a new feature called Fastpass. this lets you get on rides a lot quicker than usual.

The Fastpass is free and because of the way that it works, can only be used every couple of hours.

California Student Aid Commision - Go here to learn about state and institution-based financial aid programs and for helpful pointers on finding money for college.

College Board and SAT - Register for the SAT, or have your scores sent to colleges. There's also good information on paying for college.

FAFSA on the Web - You can securely complete and file the FAFSA online at this site, which also has links to the federal financial programs and PIN registration.

Universal Studios Hollywood
Submitted by Frank on Thursday, November 2, 2006 - 19:40

Universal Studios Hollywood is where all of the movie magic originated. It's actually one gigantic city! We thought it would just be another amusement park. We were wrong. It's more of a learning experience. So make sure that you listen if you go. They give all sorts of information. When we watched the shows, we got to learn how the movies were made.

They do not have a lot of rides, but they have a lot of shows. Some shows like the Spectacular Special Effects show has been changed to reflect the digital age in movie making. If you like fire, then you'll love Backdraft. You learn a little bit about how the movie was made, then you get to see it in action. We got to see Shrek in 4D. The seats move to a 3D movie and when the donkey sneezes, you get to feel it! How does a 3D movie mixed with live action sound? That is what Terminator 2D is all about. Back to the Future is one of the rides and done quiet nicely. The movie enveloped us. With the recent Marvel comics craze, we got to see Dardevil jump off of a building and Spiderman swing from building to building.

Elena

Welcome to my corner of our website. I am currently teaching third grade and part-time at a private University. Here you will find educational links to help struggling students, parents, and new teachers.

The scholarship section lists various financial awards and grants that are available for students who are pursuing a college education. In the USA, everyone has the financial opportunity to get a higher education because of private scholarships, state grants, and federal grants.

Feel free to checkout my classroom, links, and scholarship information.
