Legoland

Welcome to our trip to LegoLand, U.S.A. LegoLand is an amusement park located in Carlsbad, California, U.S.A. that was designed for children between the ages of 3 and 12. We feel that kids between the ages of 5 and 10 would enjoy it the most. Parking is $7.00 USD and to get a little closer to the entrance, you will have to pay $12.00 USD. The scenery is decorated with sculptures made out of Legos. The landscaping was designed very well and has a lot of nice plants and flowers. Even though the scenery is beautiful, the smell coming from the fertilizer plant next door was overwhelming throughout the day.

We were as excited as a 2 year old when we arrived on August 18, 2001. We couldn't wait to try out the rides, eat some of their food, and look at Miniland. At Miniland, you can see famous U.S. cities made out of Legos at1/20th the actual size.

Inside of LegoLand, they have play areas where you can play games with computers, use Legos to build and test your own objects, and even program robotic Legos. Elena and I enjoyed programming our Lego robot. The little course they have took about 45 minutes.

There are 3 rollercoasters and they're definitely designed for little kids. They don't go too fast and the ride is over very quickly. All of the other rides are the typical rides found at an amusement park that caters to young children. The kids and adults young at heart will love them.

They have a variety of performances including jugglers, magicians, and a ventriloquist. They are all very good especially the ventriloquist.
When it came time to eat, we were very excited to try their food. It was a disheartning disappointment. Together we had two slices of pizza, one large drink, one caeser salad, and one Rice Krispy Treat dipped in chocolate for $17.00USD. The pizza crust was weird to say the least, the cheese was rubber even though it was fresh pizza, and the Rice Krispy Treat tasted like I was eating raw Rice Krispys with no surgar or milk! The salad was very good and so was the Minute Maid drink. After we ate, we saw this. Notice how two of the slices are not on plates and one of them has kitchen utensils on it! We were very disappointed with the food. Later, we did have a brownie that had chocolate icing on top of it which was VERY good.

Overall, the experience was very good. We enjoyed the trip and it is a must for children between the ages of 5 and 10. The rides were very good and quite unique. As far as rides for young children are concerned, this place is better than Disneyland. Although, Elena doesn't think so. The shows average 15-20 minutes each but are very good. Just remember, BRING YOUR OWN FOOD.
